Acclaimed Americana songwriter and instrumentalist Phoebe Hunt and her virtuosic band The Gatherers will perform several shows as part of The Festy Presents Tour this Fall. The tour will also feature Dori Freeman, an Appalachian songwriter whose 2016 self-titled debut was named one of the year's best albums by The New York Times. The Festy Presents Tour will culminate with a performance by both artists at The 8th annual Festy Experience in Arrington, Virginia on October 6.
Rolling Stone Country named Hunt one of their Top 10 "New Country Artists You Need To Know." Shanti's Shadow's "title hints at the otherworldly music within," they write, "with Hunt merging her Appalachian-style fiddle chops with Texas twang, Indian ragas, gypsy jazz, unfamiliar time signatures and the free-spirited fun of a jam band leader. The resulting record breathes new life into a genre that's sometimes so respectful of the past, it fails to push toward the future."
Austin, TX fully embraces Phoebe Hunt and her band of Gatherers as she release the soundtrack to her self discovery, Shanti’s Shadow at The Paramount Theater on June 2nd. Rising superstar and musical comrade Alejandro Rose Garcia, (aka Shakey Graves) humbly offered to open the show, while the Brother Brothers, comprised of Hunt’s current brooklyn housemate David Moss will be debuting their sibling harmonies and subtle charm to make the evening one not to miss.
Celebrated Americana artist Shakey Graves will perform an opening set at Phoebe Hunt's headlining show at Austin's Paramount Theatre on June 2nd. The show falls on the release date of her acclaimed new album Shanti's Shadow, and will also serve as a birthday celebration for both the Austin-raised fiddler and Graves.
Noted as one of the top 10 New Country Artists you need to know, Phoebe has some words of gratitude for this recognition:
“I am beyond humbled to find out that Rolling Stone even knows who I am, yet alone that they have listened to Shanti’s Shadow and believe it to be worthy of your listen. This album has been such a journey for me, and I am overwhelmed by this sort of recognition. Thank you for listening!”
